Last month in the States we announced the availability of Sputnik 3, the XPS 13 
Developer Edition featuring the 4th generation Intel processors. This laptop, which is touch-enabled, is replacing the existing XPS 13 Developer Edition.
We had hoped to make the offering available online across Europe a couple of weeks about but a few online glitches kept us from making it so.
Various countries have been coming online recently and today I would like to announce that the XPS 13 developer edition is available (see below for the specs) in the following countries/languages:

- Display: 13.3″ Full High Definition touch display (1080p)

- Graphics: Intel HD graphics 4440 (HD 5000 in the case of the enterprise version)
- Hard drive: 256GB SSD drive
- Standard Service: 1 year Dell ProSupport and onsite service after remote diagnostics
- Operating system: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
- Community projects: Cloud launcher and Profile tool (for more info see the update from last week)

I wasnt aware that we offered it with a US keyboard in Germany. I know people asked for it but i thought we werent able to make it available.

Because of that I assumed that they were in the beginning of the year for the sputnik 2. I would love to buy the new model. But not with a german keyboard.

Unfortunately we currently dont have plans to introduce Sputnik in South America. That being said, we are always monitoring customer demand.

As a professional Linux developer I can’t tell you how nice it is to finally see us getting recognised by hardware manufacturers, I was seriously getting ready to order one of these until I saw it had intel graphics. That’s a dealbreaker for me right there. What on earth were you thinking when you decided to go with an intel GPU? You SO should have used nVidia, its a no-brainer for a Linux box.

One year later, I still wish next Intel processor and an Ethernet port, but I would be great to add some customization too (why not the return of Dell Design Studio? ) because atm these laptops are great and the best fit for me but still a bit overpriced …

I’ve been checking news of availability in Finland ever since announcement, but it seems there is no plans to make this product available here? There might be swedish retailers that ship to Finland but that makes things a tad more complicated (keyboard layout is identical).. in comparison to many highly portable machines this one would be near perfect due linux compability.
I hope this product would be made available here.
